Kincaid Park, Devil's Club

A close cousin of ginseng, Devils Club (Echinopanax horridum) is known for its towering stalk, massive maple-like leaves, and ubiquitious thorns up to a inch in length. Like ginseng, Devils Club has been used by Alaskan coastal Natives for medicinal extracts, poultices, and teas.
